09/10/26—Group Event—Juniata County Fair/Port Royal Speedway. Meet at the church parking lot at 2:45 PM to car-

pool, or if driving on your own meet at the fairgrounds. The

fair is free admission; Race tickets available at the track—

ticket cost: $30.00 adults, $15.00 ages 13 to 17, ages 12 and

under free. Races start at 7:00 PM. Remember to bring a lawn

chair and/or a blanket for seating in the infield.

“Joshua”, 3:00 P.M. Ticket price is $75.25 for those who

have already signed up. Payment due now—Please either

drop your payment off to the church office or place it into the

offering plate. Make check out to GUMC.

09/25/26—Group Event—Goose Day Drone Light Show,

Lewistown, 9:30 P.M. Dinner at the Bel-Vue Inn at 5:30.

Meet at the church parking lot at 5:00 P.M. to car pool, or 

drive on your own. After dinner attend the Goose Day activities in Lewistown, drone show begins at 9:30 at Rec Park.

10/03/26—Group Event—Hike Scripture Rocks Park

(Brookville) / Kinzua Bridge. This hiking trail consists of 1.5-

miles of gravel-covered pathways, winding through more than 60 boulders carved with the philosophy and tribulations of Douglas Stahlman in the early 1900s. Afterwards, see the Kinzua Bridge. Lunch at the BP Inn, Brookport, More details to follow ...

OUT OF THE COLD

Centre County provides emergency shelter nightly 9p.m.-7a.m.

from mid-October to early May. Hosted by 16 congregations and seven partner agencies the shelter rotates sites approximately every 2 weeks. 

Guests must call 814-852-8864 to register for the evening. First time guests will complete an intake interview upon

arrival. No weapons, alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted on site. Once admitted to the program, guests can register at the shelter to stay additional nights. 

Each evening a hot meal is served and breakfast is available before departure in the morning. If a guest is working, or otherwise unable to attend the day shelter, a packed lunch may be provided.
